Mentors 2 Careers

Our programs

Our mission advances into action as we respond to the outreach and mentoring of at-risk yet talented teens. Even further, as an educational and mentoring non-profit, our staff and volunteers encourage raising the bar for educational achievement and the pursuit of a high school diploma and admissions into institutions of higher education. Services offered in our Mentor 2 Careers program include academic tutorial support, SAT/ACT preparation, conflict resolution, bond building, and athletic opportunities that encourage successful careers of choice as young adults. Teens are exposed and aligned with adult professionals relevant to associated learning opportunities that assist in building bridges outside their home neighborhoods. Meeting Kids Where they are

Our principle strategy of meeting kids where they are provides intensive and innovative learning opportunities that focus on the application of disguised learning methodologies to aid in school retention rates and the reduction of outcomes that impact JCPS suspension rates of low-income students who primarily reside in West and South Louisville neighborhoods. While assessing how to establish connecting relationships of influence in peer-to-peer and peer-to-adult mentorships, programming is in alliance with contemporary social and educational reform issues that appeal to and impact the worldview of youths' lives more effectively. The Mentors 2 Careers program is open to all students regardless of their race, religion, gender or financial circumstances.
